Dennis Manarchy still inspiring
This is the photographer that inspired me from the very first. I used to go to my campus library and read all of the "Graphis" annuals that I could find. The first image of his that that really impressed me was the elegance of "Green snake with rose petals" (see HISTORIC) on his Images pages. The next was the oil covered woman , then the "Watermelon on head". When I moved to Chicago and worked as an assistant his studio was just one block away. I remember riding the "L" and noticing that Manarchy's studio on the second floor was just a hop skip and a jump from the platform that I got off at everyday. It would be so easy to just hop onto a roof and sneak a peak into the studio.... I am still angry that I didn't drop the last cohuna and make that jump. Little did Iknow then that a little bit of inspiration follows you a long way. All images in this post are Dennis Manarchy
